The Director Of Black Panther Is Bringing Us Genre-Bending Thriller

This is a film meant for the big screen, so don’t miss it. Sinners hits cinemas on April 18th.

The Academy Award-nominated filmmaker behind Black Panther and Creed, Ryan Coogler, is back with a highly anticipated release set to grace our screens later this month. Not only will Sinners be an action-packed watch, it also is set to explore thought-provoking themes against the backdrop of early 20th Century Mississippi.

Although the finer details of the plot have been kept tightly under wraps, if the cast is anything to go by we know we’re in for a treat. It’s good news for Micheal B. Jordan fans, you’re not just getting him as the lead – you’re getting him twice. Trying to leave their troubled lives behind, twin brothers Smoke and Stack both played by Jordan, return to their hometown to start again, only to discover that an even greater evil is waiting to welcome them back,“You keep dancing with the devil, one day he’s gonna follow you home.” Coogler’s longtime collaboration with Jordan has already given us unforgettable performances in Fruitvale StationCreed, and Black Panther.

On top of Michael B. Jordan in the lead role, the film showcases an ensemble of talented Black actors, each adding depth to this gripping story that brings together intense action, great music and the fight against evil. Wunmi Mosaku, known for her Emmy-nominated performance in Lovecraft Country, brings her powerful presence to the film, while Delroy Lindo, a seasoned actor with standout roles in Da 5 Bloods and Malcolm X, and Omar Benson Miller, with his memorable roles in 8 Mile and CSI: Miami, are exciting additions on the cast.

In addition, Sinners also features performances from Jack O’Connell [UnbrokenGodless and of course Skins], and Hailee Steinfeld [True Grit and Edge of Seventeen]. To top it off, the Oscar-winning composer Ludwig Göransson brings his incredible talent to the film’s score, promising to add even more depth and emotion to its intense, supernatural world.

With its star-studded cast and a heavily layered storyline, Sinners promises to deliver both thought-provoking depth and thrilling action. The film’s rich complexities will no doubt leave you reflecting long after the credits roll. This is a film meant for the big screen, so don’t miss it. Sinners hits cinemas on April 18th.
