A couple of days after launching Wuuf in Dublin Zoo chef Gavin McDonagh has launched another spot in Dublin’s Phoenix Park attraction.

Located in The Cove near The Sea Lions, the Chicken Hut is serving up chicken burgers, tenders and fries to the hungry zoo-goers. This is not your average zoo-food fare, there are truffle and parmesan fries, harissa tenders and buttermilk chicken burgers topped with roasted garlic.

Launched by McDonagh, who previously Chef Patron of Michelin listed Brioche restaurant in Ranelagh which closed in 2017.

Working as Group Executive Chef at Baxterstorey, McDonagh has been heading up their concept development.

This is McDonagh’s second food truck in the zoo, since he launched Wuuf on June 26. The slipstream truck, Wuuf is slinging veggie, New Yorker, classic, Mexican chilli dogs from his truck, alongside cheese and bacon fries and truffle and parmesan fries.

In conjunction with Bow Lane Social Club, McDonagh has also recently launched Hanger in Dublin 8’s Dinetown. Nestled in the horse and cart yard of The Iveagh Market on Francis Street, Hanger is serving up some serious plates, centring around Irish steak and seafood.

You can find the Chicken Hut at Dublin Zoo’s The Cove near The Sea Lions, visit McDonagh’s for details on opening hours and more information.
