Shane Mac an Bhaird – Writer

Shane Mac An Bhaird is no stranger to unsettling works of fiction and human introspection. His 2017 work ‘Melt’ explored the relationship between two scientists in Antarctica when they discover something hidden deep within the ice sheet. The play was nominated ‘Best New Play of 2017’ and ‘Best Theatre Script’ at the 2018 Zebbies. He went on to receive the 2018 Next Generation Award from the Arts Council.
Eoghan Carrick – Director

Eoghan Carrick is an artist based in Dublin, Ireland. He works primarily as a director in theatre. Recent directing credits include: Konstantin, Theatre for One and The Misanthrope. He is currently part of the Performing Arts Forum Independent Artist Working Group and on the committee of the Theatre Artist Assembly. Eoghan is an Adjunct Teaching Fellow in Trinity College Dublin’s School of Creative Arts and the inaugural Rough Magic Fellow in Trinity College Dublin’s Long Room Hub.
Ellen Kirk – Set Designer

Ellen Kirk is an Irish scenographer and production designer whose work spans theatre, film, and music Alongside her theatre practice, Ellen works extensively as a production designer and art director for film and music video. Her film credits include the multi-award-winning short Room Taken (shortlisted for 97th Academy Awards), executive produced by Colin Farrell, and Everybody Digs Bill Evans, written by Mark O’Halloran and directed by Grant Gee, which will premiere in competition at Berlinale 2026. Her music video work includes collaborations with artists such as Kojaque, Hozier, and Soda Blonde.
Eoin Robinson – Video Design

Eoin is a Dublin based Video Designer and Video Artist from County Armagh. Their practice is
concerned with the relationship between technology and art and how it can integrate and
enhance live performance. Eoin was a participant in Rough Magic Theatre Company’s
prestigious SEEDS artistic development programme in 2021/22. Beyond theatre, they have
worked in installation and interdisciplinary performance, including participation in the Light
Moves Festival’s Open Future residency at Dance Limerick.
Sarah Jane Shiels – Lighting Design

Sarah Jane is a lighting and set designer. She began designing as a member of Dublin Youth Theatre at the age of 14. She is an award winning designer from The Irish Times Theatre Awards and Dublin Film Festival. Some of the past projects she’s worked on includes This Shit Happens All The Time (Lyric Theatre Belfast); Conversations After Sex (THISISPOPBABY); All the Angels (Rough Magic Theatre Company); Book of Names (ANU Productions); The Veiled Ones (Junk Ensemble).
Sorcha Ni Fhloinn – Costume Design

Sorcha has worked extensively as a costume designer, supervisor and maker. She has worked across theatre, film, TV and music videos in Ireland and the UK. Previous design credits include: Three Sisters & A Misanthrope, What Are You Afraid Of?, Children Of The Sun and The Tempest.
Denis Clohessy – Music and Sound Design

Denis’s previous work with Rough Magic includes The Tempest, Solar Bones and Much Ado About Nothing. He has also worked with The Abbey Theatre, The Gate Theatre, Once Off Productions, Fishamble, CoisCéim, Junk Ensemble, Corn Exchange, Northlight Theatre, Chicago and Beijing Children’s Art Theatre. He won the Irish Times theatre award for Best Soundscape in 2011 and 2019 and was a nominee in 2015. Denis was an associate artist with the Abbey in 2008 and was a participant on Rough Magic’s ADVANCE programme in 2012.
Dominic O’Brien – Rough Magic Associate Director

Dominic is a theatre-maker from Dublin.Recent directing credits Ubu and Glass Places. His Writing credits include Echo and Decameron. He is currently Rough Magic Theatre Company’s Associate Director.
