Craft beer bohemians Under Dog found their new permanent home at the corner of Capel and North King St and are hoping to move in by early May.
The OG’s themselves will be doing what they always do, sourcing and tapping the best beer available in the country and adding some cool food ideas into the mix.
In a statement to CHAR, they said, “We’re a tad nervous about it all to be honest. But excited at the same time. We’re coming out of a pandemic, into a recession, onto a corner premise that hasn’t really worked for anyone. But we are called UnderDog, so the story writes itself, really!”
They will take up residence in the former home of Taco Libre. A Galway Bay bar that lasted less than a year.
UnderDog originally opened in 2017 in the basement of Brogans on Dame Street. Once lockdown happened, UnderDog managed to occasionally operate as a beer takeaway of sorts, but when they did not re-open when all other pubs finally could. Issues with the building seemed to be the blocker. UnderDog then popped up at The Legal Eagle in November 2022. They will be wrapping up their lease there in late April.
