The final lineup is banging – and it features some Irish talent.

Irish DJs Sally C and Swoose are joining a packed out lineup in Barcelona at Sónar 2024. The theme for this year is ‘the frequency of now’, welcoming a broad spectrum of dance music icons and radical performers to Barcelona from the 13th to the 15th of June. Other performers on the lineup include, Floating points, Laurent Garnier, Eliza Rose, Kerri Chandlers and Hector Oaks b2b Partyboi69. Full line up is here.

Creativity is always central to Sónar, extending beyond securing huge names for the lineup. Alongside globally famous acts, the festival platforms emerging artists from Barcelona’s micro-scenes alongside established artists. Last year, the festival commissioned local duo Tarta Relena, for a large-scale, interactive, audiovisual, art installation, which lit up the Barcelona skyline.

CASISDEAD is also playing. The UK’s most mysterious rap and grime artist released his hugely anticipate album last year ‘Famous Last Words’. The album cited collaborations from the Neil Tennant from the Pet Shop Boys and was unsurprisingly loaded with 80s synth. Despite the artist’s anonymity, aided by balaclavas and almost-realistic rubber masks, their stage presence is famed, and will be sure to be one of the most anticipated live performances on the diverse lineup.

The collision of visual and audio experience is set to be big. Radical collective ASIANDOPEBOYS present ‘PHYSIS’ are set to perform a six-hour multidisciplinary show. Lil Mariko is starring in a virtual reality opera with Team Rolfs. ‘Mind-melting visuals’ have been promised to festival goers, alongside avant-garde choreography.
