Watch Pillow Queens perform on James Corden’s Late Late Show

Words: Katie Gartland

The stunning performance was the band’s first appearance on US television.

Pillow Queens performed on The Late Late Show with James Corden last night. The immersive appearance saw the Dublin-based band perform their single ‘Liffey’.

Pam and Sarah, singer and guitar player of the band were interviewed by Corden before the full bands performance. They discussed recording of ‘In Waiting’ and the power of the Atlantic Ocean to awaken their bones before recording sessions in Donegal’s Dunfanaghy.

The performance of ‘Liffey’ showcased the band’s stunning opening harmonies and crackling energy. One for Ireland to be proud of.

We’re certainly excited to see the band play live for their UK and Ireland tour at the end of the Summer. In an interview with District about the release of ‘In Waiting’, they discussed the unshakable feeling of a live performance and how they thrive off their audience’s energy.

Pillow Queens released their first album, ‘In Waiting’ in September 2020. ‘In Waiting’ has been shortlisted for the Choice Music Music Prize for best album alongside Nealo’s ‘All The Leave Are Falling’, Denise Chaila’s mixtape ‘Go Bravely’ and Roísín Murphy’s ‘Roísín Machine’.
