ZASKA and shiv perform new songs at The Dublin Liberties Distillery

Words: Ellen Kenny

The Dublin Liberties Distillery will host ZASKA & shiv: Distilled on July 27 for a unique one-night-only event.

The creators will perform brand new collaborative pieces for a stripped-back, intimate performance at the Distillery. The duo previously collaborated in Paris and will be bringing their new songs to Dublin.

ZASKA is a modern funk neo-soul band led by guitarist and songwriter Max Zaska. Previous collaborators include Hozier, Denise Chaila and Melina Malone. Their 2019 album, It Takes A Village, featured 25 collaborators and was named Album of the Year by RTÉ 2FM’s Peter Curtin.

ZASKA’s will release their second album, A Better Way, this fall with the theme of sustainability. It features Irish artists such as Faye O’Rourke (Soda Blonde), Jess Kav and many more.

Performing with ZASKA, shiv is a DJ turned singer-songwriter based in Dublin, known for her unique spin on R&B and lo-fi Hip Hop. She rose to prominence after her self-written Maid Of Honour song for her sister was published on YouTube.

Dublin-based alternative singer J Smith will be opening for shiv and ZASKA.

Tickets are 15 euros and include a complimentary Dublin Liberties Distillery whiskey. Click here to buy tickets.
