Dublin Fringe Festival is coming around fast. From 7-22 September, Dublin will be filled with bold, brave and boundary-pushing shows from Ireland and beyond, showcasing art which would send your Granny into a coma. A wild night of cabaret with the most Irish of institutions at its heart, TV. Fresh from his performance at Electric Picnic, flick through the airwaves with the ever so distinguished and exuberant SexyTadgh, and tune into the likes of the Catholic (Guilt) Channel, XXX After Dark, and The Real Housewives of Carlow Town.

Dispell the sport-related PTSD that may have been inflicted on you and embrace ‘Ham Sandwiches and Discipline’. Channelling the power of the GAA, this dance, disco comedy delves into the cultural cornerstone of Ireland. Experience the shared-Irish experience of Gaelic Games through a lens which scarcely crosses the GAA’s path.

Dream Gun Film Reads: Anthology

Putting comedians on the spot and giving them some of the most iconic scripts in film history to play with, what could go wrong? Here, famous movie texts are rewritten by the Dreamgun comedians, without refreshing their memory of the films, and then performed in a rather hectic manner. This year, touching on Star Wars, Shawshank Redemption, Titanic, Harry Potter, Willy Wonka Toy Story and The Lord of the Rings, it’s another chance for the Irish to take over Hollywood even more.

Catholic guilt getting you down? Do you sometimes wish the world would swallow you up or better still, you get raptured? Through Daisy’s church, see the end of the world through a queer reimagination. Three women from diferent walks of life and yet united in the UK in the recovery ward of an abortion clinic. Looking at the consequences of the repeal the 8th movement, this play puts eyes on the Irish healthcare system as well as global reproductive rights.
