Waves upon waves of Irish music have fell on our ears this year.

01

Jordan Adetunji

It’s been a while since we’ve seen world domination coming out of Ireland like Jordan Adetunji this year. Arguably the most viral track of the year. 90 million views on YouTube, Millions of videos using his sound, garnering billions of views left 2024 in a chokehold by his track “Kehlani”. Is there a bigger flex than getting the lady herself on the remix?

02

Travy & Elzzz

Somebody give these boys their flowers. Making Irish history by achieving the first ever Irish hip hop album to reach number one. ‘Blockbuster’ forced the online hip-hop world to take Ireland seriously as a force to reckon with in that world. Gliders is popping and we’re all waiting with bated breath for Travy & Elzzz’s 2025.

03

Moio

A buzzer beater blow up to end the year. We’re witnessing the wheels in motions right now. Yet another Irish artist who has harnessed thr power of social media to catapult their career. Truly the future of Irish music. 10 million views on tiktok alone, it’s been all eyes on Moio and his breakout track ‘Moments’. Chamomile on top.

04

Aby Coulibaly

You can feel when an artist starts bubbling and this has been that feeling throughout 2024 for Aby. Opening for Coldplay for their Dublin dates is only the tip of the iceberg for her successes. Yet another Chamomile Club alumni taking over Irish ears.

06

F3miii

One thing that has been so special about Irish artists blowing up this year is how unique the sounds are. F3miii is a perfect example of Irish artists capitalising on success whilst staying true to producing genuinely innovative sounds. ‘LOSTWITHOUTMARIA’ only consolidated his successes from 2023 and leaves him in prime position for 2024.

07

Gurriers

Anyone else feel like Irish bands are carrying the world band scene right now? Close the bathroom door and scream in the shower to some Gurriers. Jools Holland was blessed by the boys, as well as 80 dates across Europe.

08

NewDad

A prime example that Irish talent spans far beyond the east coat. NewDad have curated a cult of middle aged men and tapped in young music heads alike who equally enjoy their shoegazey sound. Their debut album ‘Madra’ legitimised their presence on a global platform, as well as ann appearances at Glastonbury to top it off.

08

Tomike

Numbers don’t lie and Tomike’s numbers are showing that she’s had a stellar year. Her collaboration with Obskür saw perfectly suited vocals, with a signature electronic beat that has seen an Irish sound thrive. Combine that with the success of her single with 1000 beasts ‘Cherry Delight’ and you have a not too shabby 2024.

09

Ema

Ema’s ever-presence in Irish nightlife is undeniable, but it fills our hearts with joy to see international recognition. Being named as a breakthrough DJ of the year by Mixmag is long overdue. Overseeing Tengu to become a beloved institution for boundary-pushing nightlife and giving Irish representation on platforms such as BBC Radio 6 and Rinse FM.

10

Bricknasty

Since 2023, Bricknasty have hit us with a beautiful one-two, with INA CRUELER and XONGZ. Creating symphonies with a core of Dublin running through it has gripped us. Nobody else is making music like this, and arguably nobody else has as fun live shows.

11

Fontaines D.C.

The definition of total world domination. Fontaines have given homes to the fans of an Oasis-dominant era, who had been looking for a group to identify with. All whilst doing this, the band are converting the youth masses into enjoyers of their newest ‘Favourite’ era. A subtly grungy tone, representative of a disgruntled new generation.
