3 Acts You Need To See At Bulmer’s Secret Orchard

Words: Dray Morgan

Amongst the trees in Clonmel, Bulmers are showcasing some of the best homegrown talent in Ireland as part of a one-off performance at The Secret Orchard.

Bulmers Secret Orchard are bringing together a host of homegrown talent as part of the latest edition of their music showcase series. Headlined by Kojaque on September 9 in Clonmel, The Secret Orchard also sees performances from shiv who recently supported Lana Del Rey, Tebi Rex ahead of a new EP, Rachael May Hannon, who comes off the back of a performance at All Together Now, dream pop artist Aonair and the shapeshifting Skull The Pierre. Previous editions featured the likes of Salamay and Bobbi Arlo, who performed ahead of festival season in May.

Tickets are available via registration on their website at Secretorchard.bulmers.ie. Elsewhere, there’s also an opportunity to win a glamping trip for four people so you can sleep amongst The Orchard after the evening’s entertainment. Entries for tickets close on 31 August.

Ahead of the night, we’ve highlighted the acts you need to see.

01

Kojaque

Kojaque’s momentum is real. The rapper who needs little introduction is deep in rollout mode ahead of his rumoured second studio album. He’s dropped two singles in the last month including ‘CABRA DRIVE’. which features a music video of the artist’s larger-than-life alter ego, Jackie Dandelion. Being his first solo release in two years, it’s about time Kojaque stole our hearts again. It goes without saying the performance on the night is teeing up to be special. Fingers crossed for some unreleased gems on the night.

02

shiv

Having appeared at a few Soft Boy Records parties over the past year, it’s no surprise that shiv is lining up with Kojaque at Bulmers this September. Both share some of the same earnest songwriting qualities and are some of the country’s most exciting acts right now. What’s more is, having dropped the single ‘Heavy Water’ and supported Lana Del Rey in Dublin, shiv is in a rich vein of form. It’s not hard to understand how the intimate settings of the Secret Orchard are going to be perfect for her songs to strike a chord. Don’t sleep on the RnB frontrunner!

03

Tebi Rex

Tebi Rex have just announced their newest project SITCOM after releasing their singles ‘IMTHEBEST‘ and ‘People Pleaser’ with an aptly themed music video. As always, it’s hard to predict what this EP might have in store, as the duo have always covered a variety of genres. The one certainty is energy in their forthcoming performance.
