10 new Netflix shows to watch while storm Doris blows over

Unless you haven’t left the gaff and had the curtains closed and headphones on, you’ve probably notice that it’s been pretty windy outside, gusts up to 110km/h to be exact.

 

Storm ‘Doris’ has officially hit the country with drivers and people advised to take care, especially parking near water or under trees.

If you are planning on not venturing outside this weekend and staying indoors where it’s warm, we’ve made a list of things you should watch.

There are some new original shows in there, documentaries and some classics all newly added to Netflix this month.

10. Birdman

The newly added to Netflix movie was a huge sucess when it came out in 2014. Starring Michael Keaton and Emma Stone.

9. The Theory of Everything

Starring Eddie Redmayne, Felicity Jones and David Thewlis, the Academy Award winning film has also just been added to Netflix.

If you haven’t watched it before we recommend getting on that asap. Although if you have it’s definitely worth watching again.

8. Santa Clarita Diet

The first season just dropped today on Netflix starring Drew Barrymore and she also was one of the executive producers.

I’ll be honest I have only watched the trailer for this, however I think we can all agree that Drew is just great. It looks interesting and funny, so fingers crossed it’s good.

7. The People vs. Larry Flynt

The 1996 biographical classic featuring Woody Harrelson and Courtney Love is newly on Netflix today. Almost 21 years ago the award winning film is a must watch.

6. 13th: A Conversation with Oprah Winfrey and Ava DuVernay

Oprah sits down with Director Ava DuVernay to discuss her Oscar-nominated film, historical cycles of oppression and the broken prison system.

5. Paris is Burning

The Sundance award winning documentary is an intimate portraite of 1980s Harlem drag balls a world of of fierce competition, sustenance, and survival.

4. Riverdale

Now this is a new original tv show that you might be interested in if you used to read Archie/Betty and Veronica comics. With episodes released weekly there are 2 so far online. It’s a bit tacky but it’s actually pretty gas too. It has no real relation to the comics aside from the names of the characters and places though fyi.

3. Ashley Madison: Sex, Lies and Cyber Attacks

A documentary detailing the hacking of the online dating website, Ashley Madison,  and the fallout from the public release of its users via email.

2. He-Man and the Masters of the Universe

The classic 1983 superhero comic show follows the journey of Prince Adam as He-Man to protect his kingdom from the evil Skeletor.

1. Stalked: Someone’s Watching

This crime documentary follows stories of stalking victims and examines the twisted psychology of the people who relentlessly pursue them.
