2020’s music from a nightclub bathroom? Yes please

Words: Dylan Murphy

How many times have you said to a friend, “I wish we got to hear this in a club” about a recently released song?

The last year has been awful and we’re all missing experiences from the never-ending list of ‘Things we used to do’. Some of which are the most niche experiences and we are even getting to the point you could say you miss the fear on a Sunday morning (Almost).

There’s nothing quite like the dampened sound of bass creeping under the bathroom door of a club as you big yourself up in the mirror after a few scoops. There’s something quite poetic about re-entering the dancefloor from the jacks with the kick snares soundtracking your walk to the speakers, whilst you assert your position as the main character.

Whether it’s the Saturday night support club in the bathroom or inadvertent sword fights from stotious people at the urinal, there’s something reassuring about hearing the muffled sounds of your favourite tunes from the comfort of a room full of toilets.

With this in mind, a Youtube user has reimagined those experiences, creating a video of a club bathroom with some of the biggest tracks of 2020 playing in the background. It’s a tragedy that the likes of Dua Lipa’s Nostalgia Ultra never got the club treatment it deserved and pain hours has did its best to provide a glimpse of what could have been if it weren’t for you know what.

Other inclusions in the muffled mix include DaBaby, Dj Snake and Post Malone.
