Seeing as we’re still pretty fresh into 2017 and movie award season, there are some really exciting films set to be released this year.

 

There will inevitably be some horrifically bad ones that some of us will watch in secret, however we’ve made a list of 25 of the best looking flicks on the way.

Starring Idris Elba, Matthew McConaughey and Katheryn Winnick. Directed by Nikolaj Arcel.

The Gunslinger, Roland Deschain, roams an Old West-like landscape where “the world has moved on” in pursuit of the man in black. Also searching for the fabled Dark Tower, in the hopes that reaching it will preserve his dying world. Based on the books by Stephen King.

13. Kingsman: The Golden Circle

11. Blade Runner 2049

10. Star Wars: Episode VIII The Last Jedi

Rumoured stars Daisy Ridley, John Boyega and Mark Hamill. Directed by Rian Johnson. People also liked Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

Starring James McAvoy and Alicia Vikander. Directed by Wim Wenders.

No trailer yet but it’s about, a room with no windows on the eastern coast of Africa, an Englishman, James More, is held captive by jihadist fighters. Thousands of miles away on the Greenland Sea, Danielle Flinders prepares to dive in a submersive to the ocean floor. In their confines they are drawn back to the Christmas of the previous year, where a chance encounter on a beach in France led to an intense and enduring romance.
