A Lust For Life & Pieta House launch national #SoundEffect campaign

“We believe that deep down, people are sound.”

That’s the opening line of the brand new #SoundEffect campaign, a joint effort by Pieta House and A Lust For Life.

#SoundEffect is an online campaign kicking off on the August 24, that encourages people to share their “sound stories”. Whether it’s a story about a friend, family member, or a complete stranger doing something sound for you, or you being sound to somebody else, they want you to get involved and share it across social media. The aim is to “turn up the volume on the power and importance of being sound” and to spread some positivity.

Getting involved is short and simple; all you have to do is share one of these stories on social media with the hashtag #SoundEffect. The campaign will culminate at Electric Picnic; in the Mindfield Arena both organisations will be exploring mental health and the power of being nice to someone. They will be unveiling their interactive art piece, the “Wall of Sound” as well as launching their “Little Book of Sound.” Of course, they’ll be blasting tunes as well, in addition to having a variety of guest speakers.

Mental health services are far from adequate in the county, but Pieta House and A Lust For Life are organisations that help provide much-needed support. Their campaign will be a bright change; amid all of the depressing news stories will come the positive anecdotes. The more people that get involved, the stronger the wave of positivity gets. It will be a (well-needed) reminder that people aren’t always utter shit.

So get involved; do your good deed of the day and share an experience where someone was sound to you.
