Adam Mohamed confronts his insecurities in video for ‘ME & i’

Words: Dylan Murphy

The poet steps front and centre in a cinematic debut music video.

Often, when it comes to moving past our past we are our own worst enemies. Trauma lingers like an unwanted smell and if left to fester can be a handbrake on our ambitions and thorn in the side of our health and wellbeing. If the voice in our head was a person we’d straight up cut them out of our lives, but when you carry your thoughts with you all day it’s a little trickier to separate yourself from them.

In Adam Mohamed’s debut track ‘Me & i’, the established poet wrestles with his own insecurities, safe in the knowledge that everything he wants is on the other side of fear. Voicing his inner most thoughts over a shimmering instrumental, he tries to break free of a self-destructive streak.

A Collective Films production, the video sees Adam move through a number of precarious positions as his insecurities have him in a chokehold.

The video comes after Adam released the spoken word piece ‘Untitled’ in December last year.
