April shares Gus Dapperton medley & new track ‘bliss’

Ahead of her set at Bulmers Forbidden Fruit this weekend, April delivers some new music.

In March we stumbled upon a Soundcloud page that we kicked ourselves for not finding sooner. April Lawlor, or simply April, is an indie artist from Kildare who’s an exciting talent who’s bursting with talent and potential.

She told us a couple of months ago that she’s inspired by artists like Gus Dapperton and Clairo, saying, “I’ve been making music in my room for about a year or so and I guess I’m just still figuring out my sound. I use GarageBand on my computer and phone so I kind of just mess around with different sounds and instruments on there and see what I come up with”.

In her latest release she’s paid homage to Gus, releasing a seamless medley of his tracks.

“My plans right now are to write and make a couple more songs and hopefully release an EP in the next while,” she said in March. “I also hope to play some gigs or festivals to get some more recognition.”

She spoke that one into existence, as this weekend she plays Bulmers Forbidden Fruit at the District Magazine stage.
