Beyond the Plate reveal lineup

Foraging walks with Cúán Greene and tastings with Aoife Carrigy, Rory Craig (Station to Station), Judith Boyle, Whiplash Brewing, and Craft Cocktails are released today for Beyond the Plate; the food branch of Beyond The Pale.

The Beyond The Plate is a festival tent curated by food writer Ali Dunworth. Ali will welcome some of Ireland’s best cooks, creators, brewers, eaters and feeders for talks, demos, chats and tastings. There will be a focus on the local land and landscape, rebellious spirits, and myth-making alongside food and drink.

In a festival first Assassination Custard team have created a bespoke snack box for Beyond The Pale; ‘The Assassination Custard Festival Survival Pack’. These limited edition packs feature their signature ‘sort of Italian’ homemade treats. Each is designed to keep campers well snacked over the weekend. These must be pre-ordered and collected at the festival and will go on sale midday Friday, May 27, from our website.

Food onsite will include Filipino street food from Bahay, Caribbean deliciousness from AA’s Caribbean, and Mexican from El Milagro. Beyond the Plate will also host the inaugural festival outing for Dublin Burger Company; a travelling smash burger concept from the Dublin Pizza Company team.

There will be a selection of food chats with, Kevin Burke, Audrey Cahatol, Holly Dalton, the Gastro Gays and more. James Kavanagh will also interview The Mary Wallopers live for his podcast ‘What Did You Eat This Week?’ as part of the three-day Wicklow festival.

The BEYOND THE PALE team has partnered with Whiplash Beer to be the first major Irish music festival to serve only independently made Irish beer. There will be a Big Romance bar area, where attendees can sample great music and Whiplash beer. The space will also have a specially curated cocktail menu. More talks and tastings will be with local Wicklow food producers from Olly’s Farm Honey, Wicklow Way Wines and Powerscourt Distillery.

The new festival will also feature daily morning nourishing yoga and a traditional cacao ceremony running from Friday, June 10 to Sunday, June 12 in Glendalough. Three-day tickets are still available for two hundred and twenty-nine euros. In addition, the festival offers luxury onsite camping, glamping, motorhome and caravan facilities, and onsite parking.
