Big Grill announces full drinks lineup ahead of festival

Words: Shamim de Brún

The lineup includes a new wine bar from Neighbourhood Wine, a new drinks stage, Brewcamp and the first Big Bloody Cocktail Competition.

Expect plenty of delicious wines by the glass and carafe, along with easy drinkers like spritzes and prosecco on tap. Food pairings are foremost for the Neighbourhood Wine team Shane Murphy and Mick O’Connell MW when planning for The Big Grill. They will ensure a drop to match every dish on site.

Their epic lineup will feature plenty of their best-loved bottles from Matsu, Combel la Serre, Gut Oggau, Craven, Le Grappin, Craven and Hacienda Lopez de Haro, along with launching new vintages from Selene Beaujolais, Chin Chin Vinho Verde and Splash! Pet Nat.

The Big Grill prides itself on offering one of the best food festival drink selections. Over four days, the festival will showcase a stellar selection of craft breweries, artisan drinks, fun cocktails, and excellent wines. There will be craft beer bars from Black Donkey, Dot Brewing, Kinnegar Brewing, and cult favourite Rye River. Along with those, there will be thirst-quenching ciders from Dan Kelly’s, Legacy Cider and MacIvors, Irish-made ginger beer from Zingibeer, honey refreshers from Beekon Batches and Kinsale Mead.

Award-winning bartender Gillian Boyle will host the Big Grill’s new dedicated ‘Brewcamp’ stage. Gillian has shaken and stirred cocktails at some of Ireland’s best bars, including Hang Dai and Bar 1661. Guests will join Gillian to run masterclasses and chat about all things drinks related.

The lineup includes Margarita Masterclasses, Booze & Bars with Dave Mulligan & Hen’s Teeth, GIY your drinks with Stillgarden distillery. Perfect your Irish coffee game with Vice Coffee. Discover a new world of non-alcoholic drink pairings with Majekn Bech from two-star Michelin restaurant Aimsir. Neighbourhood Wine will host chats and tastings, including a showcase with Ricardo Arambarri from Matsu Wines.

On Sunday, Brewcamp will host the inaugural Big Bloody Cocktail Competition. Bartenders will put their Best Bloody Mary recipe forward and battle it out for judges Lisa Doyle from Intrepid Spirits, Cal Byrne and Brian Treacy.

The Big Grill kicks off on Thursday, August 11 and runs till Sunday, August 14. Tickets start at twenty-five euros and are available now.
