Chasing Abbey go in a new direction with ‘Hold On’

‘Hold On’ is the first taste of Chasing Abbey’s five-track EP ‘The Odyssey Project’.

Since releasing ‘That Good Thing’ in 2017, Tullamore trio Chasing Abbey have been on a EDM/rap path that led them to a record deal with Universal Music, radio play and big headline shows.

Their direction since then had led us to largely ignore their trajectory, seeing them as a cookie-cutter pop group.

However, with their latest outing ‘Hold On’, it feels like their now really on to something. While it still maintains mainstream sensibilities, the production and vocals give us the inkling that Chasing Abbey could be Ireland’s answer to Post Malone, Juice WRLD or Trippie Redd.

The track is taken from their EP ‘The Odyssey Project’ which is set to arrive on April 5.

Outro from Chasing Abbey says that with ‘Hold On’ it’s the most excited they’ve been for a track release.

“Because it’s coming out along with a body of work, which makes it extra special. We chose ‘Hold On’ as the first release of the EP because we feel it’s the most well-rounded track on the project, and best represents the entire EP.

Teddy C says, “We wrote ‘Hold On’ at a time where we were really feeling the pressure and stress of the industry, and it’s literally about looking out for each other and telling one another to hang in there. It’s a weather-the-storm track.”
