Chimac Terenure is officially open from 08:30 tomorrow morning. There will be coffee, doughnuts and lots of fried chicken all the way through to the bank holiday Monday.
In an Instagram post, they announced their official opening this morning, which said, “A huge thank you to all our staff, new and old. Plus, family and friends who have generously supported and helped in what felt like a nearly impossible mission to get these shiny blue doors open!”
The post continues to thank the local area for its support, saying, “We’ve been over the moon with all the support received from Terenure locals as we opened very sneakily last weekend. We hope to see you all very soon.”
Chimac signed the dotted line for their second location in what was Kitchen 101 back in June. Works started almost straight away. Their new second location is situated in the centre of Terenure village. Next to Mario’s and Sherry Fitz, two doors up from Saltwater Grocery.
The team are ‘excited about becoming part of the neighbourhood as we feel there is such a vibrant buzz with Lotts and Co moving in, and I believe Bujo will be just across the street, which will be great’ according to Sofie Rooney; Chimac’s Director of Operations.
The Chimac Terenure space is much larger than Chimac in Aungier Street, seating more than seventy people at a time. They will have room for private parties and celebrations across three floors. Chimac plans a sit-down, relaxed space on the top floor for the weekends. This space will have a different feel and menu featuring smaller, sharing plates, bar snacks and cocktails.
Chimac, as a Korean concept, is very much about sharing food with friends. So the team hope this space will enable them to bring this to the fore. The space itself is bright and contains original brickwork and features.
They will be open all week for breakfast, lunch and dinner, with brunch on the weekends. You can make a reservation here.
