COO of Bohemians FC calls out RTÉ’s ‘choice’ scheduling

By Emily Mullen

Daniel Lambert has called out the national broadcaster’s questionable scheduling choices

COO of Bohemians FC has highlighted some of the questionable scheduling choices taken by RTÉ over the last few days. Days after RTÉs head of sport confirmed that the League of Ireland highlight show Soccer Republic was to be axed, and hours after everyone had to peak at the Choice Music Awards at their work desks in the middle of the day, Daniel Lambert has called out the questionable scheduling choices taken by the national broadcaster.

Highlighting these two conflicting choices against an announcement from RTÉ Communications Manager, Maureen Catterson that Oprah’s interview with Harry and Megan’s interview will air on RTE2 next Monday night at 9:30 pm, Lambert wrote,

“RTE – a public service provider:

Choice awards for the best Irish Music – put it out in the middle of the day

League of Ireland highlights show – no space for that

British people born as royalty in garden with Oprah – primetime”

The cost of this 90-minute special “Oprah with Meghan and Harry” have been questioned online. In light of ITV reportedly paying £1 million to secure the screening rights for the interview.
