Daata open their first Dublin restaurant

Words: Emily Mullen

The award-winning Indian and Pakistani food slingers have expanded across the Wicklow border

Daata have opened their first Dublin restaurant on June 1st, after firmly embedding themselves across the border in Wicklow for several years.

Daata have taken the spot on the Glasthule Road over from Carluccio’s, in the seaside suburb of Glasthule.

The new location will be starting out with food collection, with plans to launch their delivery remit all along the Dart line from Monkstown to Killiney in the future. Once restrictions allow the Daata team will also be offering lunch and dinner eat-in options.

There’s also a brand new takeout drink feature, specific to the Glasthule spot, which will offer interesting cocktails like watermelon americano (Campari, vermouth, watermelon tonic), generous punch (white wine, vanilla, orange, apple, 7up), old Lahore (vermouth, bergamot, tonic), alongside non-alcoholic cocktails like the mango Mirpur and lassis, all available for takeaway.

Speaking of the new opening the team wrote, “‘We are chuffed, a little nervous, terribly proud and really hope the good folk around Glasthule and beyond, will be as happy as our lovely locals in Bray and Greystones.”

This new spot is set to hit the ground running, with Daata’s other restaurants in Bray’s Strand Road and Greystone’s Hillside Road have received a raft of awards through the year, most recently receiving Just Eat’s Best Vegetarian Takeaway award in 2020.
