Dena Anuk$a shares new EP ‘Honey & Cream’

It’s a wavy start to 2020 for Dena.

Belfast based artist Dena Anuk$a laid down the foundations for success in the new decade in the final six months of 2019. Now it feels the strategic planning is allowing her artistry to come to fruition.

She released a short video for ‘Super Thighs‘ last year followed by visuals for ‘Shine‘. Both of which feature on her new EP ‘Honey & Cream’.

A snappy vignette into her mindset, the project features lucid production, razor sharp lyricism and catchy hooks. Much of the content blends elements of neo-soul and borrows influence from the likes of IAMDDB, Keyah Blu and Noname.

On the title of the EP Dena said, “The literal translation of ‘Honey And Cream’ comes from an Arabic phrase we would use in my hometown Alexandria to say the ‘sweetest thing’.”

It follows much of the same style of her previous work but represents a marked elevation in quality and execution.

Dena kept things tight knit when creating the EP with only one feature from fellow gxrlcode member NAD for ‘Sweet Potato Fries’.
