Denise Chaila releases debut mixtape ‘Go Bravely’

Words: Dylan Murphy

It comes following a stunning live performance on Other Voices’ ‘Courage’ series.

Denise Chaila has had a massive 2020. She’s carried on the momentum built from her appearance on The Late Late Show and performance at the National Gallery of Ireland with her hotly anticipated mixtape ‘Go Bravely’.

The 11 track tape is the first body of work since her two track EP ‘Duel Citizenship’ and features production form close friend and collaborator MuRli.

Speaking on the new release Denise said, “This mixtape is a series of sonic polaroids; a patchwork collection of snapshots and messages that came to me in the midst of overwhelming messiness. These songs are affirmations and declarations from every part of me that refused to lie down and give up when everything in me told me I should. ‘Go Bravely’ is the purest expression of my faith I’ve ever articulated. It means: Come as you are. One foot in front of the other. Leave nothing of yourself behind. Stop waiting to be ready. Choose yourself. Just start. Go Bravely.”
