Dustin Diamond, who played Screech in Saved By The Bell dies aged 44

His passing followed a short battle with cancer.
Dustin Diamond, who is best known for playing ‘Screech’ in Saved By The Bell has died at the age of 44.
His representatives revealed he had been diagnosed with cancer in January in a post on social media. Following the diagnosis he had completed a first round of chemotherapy, however his agent Roger Paul noted his condition deteriorated fast in the last week.
“Dustin did not suffer. He did not have to lie submerged in pain. For that, we are grateful,” he said on Monday.
The 44-year-old played ‘Screech’ from 1989 to 1992 in Saved By The Bell. The show soon became a cult classic.
