Elder Island announce Grand Social show

Words: Ciarán Howley

The group will tour their new EP ‘Additions Attainment’ this December.

British experimental folk group Elder Island have announced their upcoming show in Dublin at the Grand Social. The announcement comes after the group revealed a new EP will arrive in October.

‘Addition Attainments’ is set to release on October 28, with the first single ‘Motive’ already having dropped on September 22. The group originally founded under the name Trouvaille, releasing their first self-titled album in 2014.

‘Addition Attainments’ is set to release on October 28, with the first single ‘Motive’ already having dropped on September 22. The group originally founded under the name Trouvaille, releasing their first self-titled album in 2014. While initially more house-inspired, ‘Motive’ shows the band shifting towards electro-pop with elements of soul.

On the new EP the group said, “It seemed like a fitting title. As a collection of tracks linked to other albums, the tracks became appendages of these other works, Additions Attachments. Nice and simple. Maybe one day we can revisit the idea: Additions Attachments 2 – Just tying up loose ends.”

Tickets go on sale this Wednesday from Ticketmaster.
