Filmore! is laying down the law in ‘Where’s Your Hall Pass?’

Words: Dylan Murphy

Take a trip with Filmore! in his riotous new video.

Dublin-based rapper Filmore! (who is definitely not Max Zanga) has shared the debut visuals from his forthcoming project.

‘Where’s Your Hall Pass?’ sees Filmore! race through the halls of a school tracking down a loose student in his Recess meets Mad Max cinematic video. Marrying DnB-inspired breaks with elements of rock, whilst also sharing DNA with the growls of JPEGMAFIA, Max Zanga’s alter-ego Filmore! is taking an aggressive left turn from the work of Tebi Rex.

In a “school report” attached to a press release, Filmore is described as having a less than good relationship with his teachers. It says, “As you will no doubt be aware, we have been having difficulties with Filmore! for some time now – with his behaviour falling far short of the standards that we expect from students in this institution. After one particular incident involving the stationary cupboard, myself and the principal decided to offer him two options – either spend the rest of the academic year in detention or join the school safety patrol.

“He chose the latter and has certainly thrown himself into the task with enthusiasm, although perhaps a little bit too much enthusiasm at times,” the report continues. “I know that he and his partner Ingrid believe they are doing the right thing by keeping the school safe for all students, especially those that he rather peculiarly describes as ‘geeks’, though he has taken it too far on a number of occasions.”
