Fired Up announce a second south Dublin location

Words: Emily Mullen

The team will be announcing a third location in the coming weeks

Fired Up have announced the location of their second pizzeria. The pizza-slingers will be expanding their South Dublin remit and opening a new spot in Rathfarnham.

The new location is expected to be open soon, with Fired Up team encouraging customers to keep their eyes peeled for more information about the new spot.

“We’re beyond excited to announce the opening of our second Dublin location,” The Fired Up team wrote, “more details to be announced shortly! Keep your eyes peeled,” they added.

The team launched Fired up in May 2020, have been serving Neapolitan sourdough pizzas out of Dublin 14’s OG pub The Goat since then.

Describing their first year as “incredible” The Fired Up team have said that they have no plans to stop at two locations and have announced plans to open in a third spot “over the next few weeks”.

“Fired up emerged at a time when the country of Ireland was on its knees, struck down by a pandemic. But in the darkest hour, we saw an opportunity. An opportunity to do something amazing. An opportunity for people to get back to work, and of course, to get FIRED UP,” the team wrote.

Using a mature sourdough starter and wholegrain flour milled in Kells, the Fired up team let their dough rest for 72 “for maximum flavour development” before sticking it in a wood-fired oven.

Their menu has classic like the margarita, alongside offerings like The G.O.A.T. (tomato base, five-mile goat’s cheese, caramelised red onions, mozzarella, sun-dried tomatoes, rocket leaves, basil and pesto oil) and The Bee Sting (tomato base, mozzarella, gubbeen chorizo, red peppers, chilli, basil and honey), the team also do a weekly special which has in the past had toppings like like Wagyu meatballs, parmigiana and even Nutella.

You can find Fired up at Dublin 14’s The Goat, in Goatstown, follow them on Instagram for more details about their opening.
