Five to Two share new track and video for ‘Song 50,000’ with jarjarjr

Words: Eva O’Beirne

Along with the track release, the jazz trio have announced the release of their sophomore album Talk Soon.

Five to Two’s latest release ‘Song 50,000’ is a collaboration with Cork rapper/producer jarjarjr and is accompanied by a Tim Shearwood music video directed by Jonah Byrne and Finn Mac Anna.

Speaking on the track, Five to Two said: ‘Song 50,000″ is another track that came out of the same improv session as ‘Moretartar!’. We wanted this track to be really atmospheric. We had a great time working with jarjarjr, he captured the energy brilliantly and we absolutely loved his flow and lyrics.”

“Finn came up with the idea for a visual for the track based on jarjarjr’s lyrics “50,000 lines deep, and the wheels keep spinning..”. We chose two contrasting scenes for the shots to emphasise the different sections in the track.”

To celebrate the project the trio will host a release party at Bello Bar in Dublin on February 18. Tickets go on sale Monday 16 January. Stay updated here.

Talk Soon releases on February 17 via Soft Boy Records.
