Fontaines D.C. nominated for ‘International Group of the Year’ at 2023 BRIT Awards

Words: Eva O’Beirne

The 2023 BRIT Awards will take place on February 11.

Fontaines D.C. have been nominated for ‘International Group of the Year’ at the 2023 BRIT Awards. They are joined in the category by Blackpink, Drake and 21 Savage, First Aid Kit and Gabriels.

This marks the second BRIT nomination for the band, having first been nominated in 2021 for the same category.

The BRIT Awards have come under fire for their lack of female nominations for this year’s ceremony. In the artist of the year category, which is gender-neutral, no female artists were nominated.

Fontaines D.C. were also recently nominated for ‘Irish Album of the Year’ for the RTÉ Choice Music Award for their third album Skinty Fia. They were also nominated for ‘Artist of the Year’.
