Food News Roundup of the Week: 29/11/2022

Tis the season for a whole load of foodie bits and bobs, so we’ve consolidated them all in one handy article for your convenience. Scroll down for the moves and shakes of the week.

Umi has added Cauliflower to their menu in both sandwich and fritter form. Nomo Ramen add new chicken skewers to its menu. Fish Shop is hosting an Oysters and Champagne night on Tuesday. The vegan meal delivery service Kru Food has launched a whole new menu.

D’Olier Street to open on Thursday

The second restaurant from the team that brought Mr Fox to Dublin was originally supposed to be called Church and Chambers but had to pivot when they received a cease and desist from The Church. The thirty-seater new spot will be open from Tuesday to Saturday with a set menu priced at eighty-two euros per person.

Dingle Distillery and Porterhouse Brew Co. launched Around the Clock 4

The fourth and final generation of their Barrel Aged Imperial Stout range, Around the Clock, will hit shelves nationwide this week. The granddaddies of craft beer, Porterhouse, have been known for their quality and range. The beer will retail for around six euros for the limited run of nine thousand bottles.

Tapas Spot to Open on Camden Street Next Week

Mr Croquetta is opening a physical location on Camden Street on December 6. The new spot will be open in Taste of Spain from Wednesdays to Sundays. Specialising in croquettes this spot made a name for itself as a ghost kitchen before landing this prime location.

Thai Basil Replaced Boojum on Millennium Walkway

According to their Google profile, “Thai Basil is an authentic Thai restaurant in Dublin”. Their menu includes Tom Yum Soup, Pad Thai, Bangkok Street Food Moo Ping Pork Skewers and other classic Thai dishes. They’re open from 12:00 to 22:00 seven days a week. You can make a reservation or there is takeaway available on Deliveroo. They also serve authentic Thai milk tea.

Hartley’s to reopen for indoor dining after fire.

 Hartley’s has announced they are reopening indoor dining for the first time in two years. They haven’t opened their indoor restaurant since Christmas 2020. Initially, they had thought to open on Thursday, December 1, but that has been pushed back to December 8.

Vanilla Pod launch in Dún Laoghaire

Opening Thursday, December 8, this will be Vanilla Pod’s fourth Irish eatery. You can also find them at Carrickmines, Blackrock and Leopardstown. Known for their audacious breakfast and lunch fare this spot is one that values provenance and uses as many Irish ingredients as possible.
