Forbidden Fruit announces Lorde, BICEP, The Avalanches and more

Words: Dylan Murphy

Returning to The Royal Hospital, Kilmainham to celebrate ten years of the festival, Forbidden Fruit has revealed a huge first wave of acts.

It’s been a while since we could confidently enjoy gig announcements, but with AllTogetherNow announcing their line up for the 2022 edition of the festival earlier this month, it’s now Forbidden Fruit’s turn to kick announcement season into full swing.

As Dublin’s first and longest-running city centre festival, it returns for the first time in three years with a strong first wave of acts.

Taking place on the June Bank Holiday Weekend (Saturday 4 & Sunday 5 June), they’ve now revealed that Lorde will play in Ireland for the first time at the festival alongside the likes of BICEP, Hot Chip, Kojaque and a host of other acts are heading to Kilmainham for the tenth anniversary celebrations.

The first artists to perform at next summer’s festival:

Bicep Live * Lorde * Hot Chip
Peggy Gou * Tom Misch * Chet Faker
The Avalanches * Floating Points * Kojaque
Folamour: Power To The PPL A/V * Princess Nokia
Biig Piig * Jayda G * Franky Wah * Pip Millett
Gemma Dunleavy * Malaki * Aby Coulibaly
