Fourtet confirms album with Madlib

Words: Dylan Murphy

This is huge.

Last night, Fourtet was streaming on his Youtube channel and chatting to fans. During 2020 it’s not unusual that artists will mingle with fans during streams given there are no clubs to play at. However, there was some definite green room energy in the chat last night as Fourtet casually shared details that he has an album on the way with none other than Madlib.

Madlib has worked with the likes of MF Doom, reworked classics from Blue Note Records and more recently released two collaborative albums with Freddie Gibbs to critical acclaim.

During the stream Fourtet said, “I’ve made an album with Madlib” in response to questions from fans about what was on the way.

The pair have an existing relationship already and in 2005, Four Tet released a whole EP of remixes for the Madvillainy album.

Fingers crossed it lands soon!
