Wet pubs will only be permitted to serve takeaway drinks.
This afternoon, the cabinet agreed a plan to exit level 5 ahead of Christmas.
It entails that all retail, hairdresser, museums, libraries and gyms will open Tuesday 1 December with restaurants, pubs that serve food and wet pubs reopening Friday 4 December. However, wet pubs will only be permitted to sell takeaway pints.
From Friday 18 December until 6 January people can travel around the country and up to three households can gather. The government recommends that people wear masks in crowded areas outdoors throughout the festive period.
More as it happens.
