Gorillaz drop ‘Momentary Bliss’ featuring slowthai & Slaves

The first episode of ‘Song Machine’ is here and the accompanying song is a banger.

Gorillaz revealed in a cryptic instagram post the idea of ‘Song Machine’ with a short audio teaser. It wasn’t clear what it would be, but in a press release today it was confirmed it would be a sporadic video series detailing the process of creating songs. The relevant songs will then be released after each episode airs.

It’s going against the traditional release cycle and providing an insight into how the animated group create their records.

The first episode in the series features a new song called ‘Momentary Bliss’ and has guest appearances from Brighton’s Slaves and Northampton’s slowthai.

The track definitely has a punk tinge to it and the video shows the acts recording in Damon Albarn’s studio.
