Influential Dublin rapper Nucentz returns with ‘Deeper Underground’

Nucentz is back on the mic.

There has never been more Irish artists producing hip hop than in 2019. Adding new, quality music to a weekly Irish rap playlist would have been a difficult task even five years ago, but now the country is bursting at the seams with MCs, DJs and producers.

There are a select few artists, however, who paved the way for this purple patch. In January it was confirmed that perhaps the most influential Irish hip hop group, Scary Éire, would be returning to the stage for the first time in years. Now, Tallaght native Rob Byrne, aka Nucentz is back. Along with artists like Collie and Rob Kelly, he’s one of the few OG Irish rappers to still be putting out music, and it’s good to hear him back behind the mic.

Featuring a sample from ‘Deeper Underground’ by Jamiroquai and cuts by DJ Flip, Nucentz has made this track as MMA fighter Richard Kiely’s walk out music ahead of his fight in 3Arena on Saturday.
