A Reddit theory suggests that Calvin Candie is played by Leonardo DiCaprio’s ‘Once Upon Time In Hollywood’ character, Rick Dalton.
A recent Reddit theory suggests Quentin Tarantino’s ‘Django Unchained’ is a film within another film.
The 2012 film about slavery in the southern states of America stars Cristopher Waltz, Jamie Foxx and Leonardo DiCaprio. According to Reddit, ‘Django Unchained’ is actually a film created within the world of Tarantino’s latest release, ‘Once Upon A Time In Hollywood’.
In the 2019 release, Leonardo DiCaprio plays the character of Rick Dalton, a famous actor in the golden era of Hollywood. The film’s storyline is loosely based on the cult of Charles Manson. The Reddit theory suggested that the roll of Calvin Candie in ‘Django Unchained’ was played by Dalton, not DiCaprio. Very interesting indeed.
Other characters played by Dalton within ‘Once Upon a Time in Hollywood’ included Lancer, Operazione Dyn-o-mite!, and The Fourteen Fists of McCluskey.
“We have no clue as of today what happened to Dalton after ‘Once Upon a Time in Hollywood’. Tarantino said that after 1969 he was a pretty big name,” the theory says.
On top of that head-melter, another theory suggests that ‘Fourteen Fists of McCluskey’- a film within ‘Once Upon A Time In Hollywood’- is based on another Tarantino film, ‘Inglorious Basterds’. The 2009 must-see is set during World War II, similar to ‘Fourteen Fists of McCluskey’, it features Dalton’s character kill Nazis with a flame thrower.
Tarantino is said to be directing a spin-off of ‘Once Upon A Time In Hollywood’. The film is based off ‘Bounty Law’, a fictitious show starring Rick Dalton.
Last year, the renowned director said he was writing a new film about a World War II veteran and his struggle to reconnect with Hollywood classic movies.
