Jim Dollard shares new jazzy hip hop track ‘god’s bathroom at midnight’

“Can I make a living off the poems that I’m giving? These nights have me wishing that I didn’t begin ’em.”

Jim Dollard is a young hip hop artist based between Kilkenny and Dublin.

According to Jim his music is “rooted in the everyday experiences of life as a teenager/young adult growing up and adjusting to life in college/school/the work environment”.

His subject matter seeks to reflect feelings of isolation and self-doubt, plus things like love, relationships and drug abuse.

“Ultimately, through sharing his music with the world, the goal is to connect with the listener,” a press release explains. “This does not necessarily have to be through the lyrics – it can be through the sparse and; sometimes low key/vibrant instrumentals. It can be through the vocal inflections/sonics or simply through an overall feel for the music. Human experiences translated into music. Race, sex, location/cultural background are irrelevant. All you need is to be yourself.”
