Lankum are getting trolled by Swifties on Twitter

Words: Katie Gartland

The Choice Prize winning group have been receiving hoards of abuse on Twitter.

Lankum have been receiving hateful comments and trolling since last night. It all kicked off after the trad band Tweeted a joke about Taylor Swift copying their album art for ‘Between the Earth and Sky’.

Highlighting the dark side of stan culture, Swifties can be notoriously vicious online as demonstrated in their response to Lankum’s tongue in cheek statement. With many making threats towards the Dublin group and hurling abuse in the replies.

They Tweeted this explaining the situation:

Hell hath no fury like a fandom scorned.

Taylor Swift is actually now trending in Ireland too.

2020 is tiring.
