Lankum to play Vicar Street after a three-year hiatus

The Dublin four-piece Lankum will perform two nights on Vicar Street this December.
Contemporary folk music group Lankum will perform Vicar Street on December 10 and 11 following a near three-year hiatus. Tickets go on sale Friday September 23 at 10:00.
The Dublin four-piece have not performed in person since their critically acclaimed album “The Lifelong Day” won the Choice Award Album of the Year in 2020 in Vicar Street.
Lankum also performed a live streamed gig, A National Disgrace, in the Abbey Theatre in August 2020 with support from The Mary Wallopers and Kneecap. The band also took part in the VISION series recorded from Vicar Street in December 2020, which was streamed on RTÉ in September 2021.
The band are famous for their minute version of “The Wild Rover”, a haunting take on the classic Irish tune.
Lankum, previously known as Lynched, has been performing in Ireland since 2000. The group have seen a rise across Europe and America in recent years, performing NPR Music Tiny Desk Concert and a performance at WGBH’s Fraser Performance Studio in Boston.
