Listen to Waterford rapper 7th Obi’s album ‘Love & Goodluck’

Words: Dylan Murphy

It’s been just over two years since Waterford crooner 7th Obi shared his debut album Taxi Club. Today, he’s stepped out from the shadows with his sophomore effort Love & Goodluck.

A forward-facing prospect, Obi hopscotched from humble beginnings dropping loosies on Soundcloud to a mainstay in the Irish scene whilst residing in the UK. Taking inspiration from the likes of Pi’erre Bourne and Lancey Foux to guide listeners through his own world, Obi provides escapist anthems for difficult times.

Featuring production from long-time collaborator LHK and features from Rmb Justize and GZ Tian it’s 35 minutes of his trademark spacey style.

Arguably, one of Ireland’s most overlooked acts, Obi’s concern with longevity over trends is cementing his spot as a rapper consistent as any.
