Lucy Blue introduces her world on ‘See You Later’

Words: Dylan Murphy

Following a string of Soundcloud loosies, Lucy Blue has released her debut single ‘See You Later‘.

First grabbing our attention with her ‘bedroom demos’ on Soundcloud, Lucy’s penchant for dreamy lyricism coupled with her considered delivery made for an exciting teaser of what was to come.

Her release today reinforces her position as one of Ireland’s brightest young talents and highlights her potential for genuine crossover success.

The result of years spent writing in her bedroom following the decision to leave school in Dublin, ‘See You Later‘ is an exploration of love and vulnerability through a youthful lens.

Citing influences ranging from the likes of Frank Ocean, PJ Harvey and iconic skate bible Thrasher Magazine to the era-defining films of Harmony Korine, there’s a unique aesthetic to Lucy’s ever-evolving world.

In 2020, as part of our Future of Irish Music series, we selected Lucy as one of the 15 artists we believe are set to make waves this year. Read what we had to say about the rising singer here.
