Maverick Sabre shares third studio album ‘When I Wake Up’

The record features Jorja Smith and Chronixx and it’s the Wexford man’s first independent project.

A lot of people have been hyping up Irish hip hop/R&B/soul over the last few years, and for good reason,  but there’s been one ray of light who has made a bigger impact than most. Maverick Sabre was just a kid when he experienced his breakthrough a decade ago, and while he was widely lauded for his work back then, his latest record is his best to-date.

Tracks like ‘Drifting‘ and ‘Don’t Talk About It’ seep the confidence of an artist who knows exactly where he is and wants to go musically, plus it’d be a crime if ‘Slow Down’ featuring the always excellent Jorja Smith isn’t gettting extended radio play.

“This is my first independent album,” he says. “A lot of it self produced and made with some of my closest friends. Everyone involved from the visuals to the music to the team is all family so this album means the world to me.

“From the bottom of my heart I want to thank everyone who has stayed supporting me from day one and believed in the message i want to put out through my music. This is and always will be for you. Love always.”
