Mythill Grim laments lost love in new video for ‘Comfortable’

“The song is about a heartbreak trying to capture the anger and feeling of being let down by some one you’re in a relationship with.”

Hip hop in 2017 is anything but low key. There doesn’t seem to be much room for subtly in popular rap, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing. But there’s one artist contributing to the Irish hip hop scene that’s taking nuanced approach to the genre, and it’s slowly getting him recognition.

We first encountered Mythill Grim when we were doing a short series called ‘The state of Dublin hip hop‘ back in 2015. It was shortly after his support slot for The Pharcyde, and since then he’s released tracks like ‘Crestfallen‘ and one of the stand out Irish rap tracks of 2017 so far in ‘Leave Me Alone‘, and more recently he warmed up for $uicideboy$ in Whelan’s.

Now Grim is back with a new video for ‘Comfortable (Dante’s Love Ballad pt1)’.

Chatting over email he tells us, “The song is about a heartbreak trying to capture the anger and feeling of being let down by some one you’re in a relationship with. It’s just trying to give those emotions a voice and image”.
