With the endless onslaught of new music every Friday it’s hard to keep up with all the new releases. We’ve curated the essential new albums and projects out today for you to check out.

Kali Uchis – Red Moon In Venus

It’s always a good day when Kali Uchis shares new music and today, she’s releasing a record that features the likes of Omar Apollo, Summer Walker and Don Toliver.

“Love is the message,” Uchis explains about the new album. “Red Moon In Venus is a timeless, burning expression of desire, heartbreak, faith, and honesty, reflecting the divine femininity of the moon and Venus. The moon and Venus work together to make key aspects of love and domestic life work well. This body of work represents all levels of love—releasing people with love, drawing love into your life and self-love. It’s believed by many astrologers that the blood moon can send your emotions into a spin, and that’s what I felt represented this body of work best.”

slowthai – UGLY

Northampton’s slowthai leans into punk on his third studio album UGLY which features contributions from the likes of close collaborator Kwes Darko, Ethan P. Flynn, Shygirl, Jockstrap’s Taylor Skye, Beabadoobee guitarist Jacob Bugden and more.

Mach-Hommy – Notorious Dump Legends: Volume 2

Enigmatic rapper Mach-Hommy returns with an album in collaboration with Tha God Fahim.

Masego – Masego

Masego shares his self-titled sophomore record. Speaking on the album he says, “I’m very thankful for the journey. This went from a hobby to a job… I was getting all the things that they say that you’re supposed to be fulfilled by and I wasn’t fulfilled by it. I had to do a re-evaluation of a lot of things. I said, ‘I can’t make this what I imagined it to be. So I cannot remain here. I need to move.’”

Kenny Mason – 3

Kenny Mason drops a three track care package showcasing his versatility across disparate sounds.
