New Albums: Loyle Carner, Armani Caesar & more

Words: Dylan Murphy

With the endless onslaught of new music every Friday it’s hard to keep up with all the new releases. We’ve curated the essential new albums and projects out today for you to check out.

Loyle Carner – Hugo

UK rapper Loyle Carner returns with his third studio album Hugo, which lands ahead of a huge tour and after singles ‘Hate’, ‘Nobody Knows’ and ‘Georgetown’.

Armani Caesar – THE LIZ 2

Griselda affiliate Armani Caesar shares the sequel to 2020’s THE LIZ with features from Kodak Black, Westside Gunn and Stove God Cooks.

Arctic Monkeys – The Car

The Car, Arctic Monkeys’ seventh studio album follows 2018’s Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino, which arrived five years after AM.

Loshh – Akọle

Having recently collaborated with Obongjayar, Loshh’s sophomore six-track EP comes off the back of his breakthrough EP Ifarada and throws his hat in the ring as one of soul and afrobeats’ most innovative new acts.

Wiki & Subjxct 5 – Cold Cuts

18 track collaborative project from New York pair Wiki and Subjxct 5.

Ayra Starr – 19 & Dangerous (Deluxe)

Barely out of her teens, Nigerian artist Ayra Starr made a name for herself with 19 & Dangerous. Now, she’s coming in hot with a deluxe version with six new tracks.

Nick Hakim – COMETA

Washington DC-born singer, songwriter and musician Nick Hakim’s COMETA is an ode to the parents that raised him and a nod to his South American heritage. Slaloming between styles at will, it furthers his reputation as a genre-agnostic free spirit.

Lord Apex – Joga Bonito

Another day, another Lord Apex project. The man doesn’t sleep. This time it’s a collaborative record with El Lif Beatz.

Elsewhere on District: 10 tracks that defined drill in Ireland in 2022.
