Words: Dylan Murphy
The Cabinet has agreed that from midnight on Thursday, nightclubs, bars and restaurants must close at midnight.
The news comes after the cabinet got together to speak at length this morning in the face of rising cases.
Normal opening hours only returned to Ireland on 22 October, but now the relaxation of opening hours is being reversed.
NEW: Government is to reintroduce a closing time of midnight for the hospitality industry, from Thursday night, less than four weeks after allowing the sector to remain open beyond 11:30pm.
