Open Ear give beautiful snapshot of their festival with new documentary

The short documentary features interviews with artists and has a focus on the island Open Ear is set on.

 

Open Ear is an annual music festival amongst the breathtaking surroundings of Sherkin Island, Cork, Ireland. To give a glimpse of the event they’ve just shared a new short film by Joseph Ingersoll, giving an “overview of the creative ethos of the festival, and it’s idyllic setting”.

Artists performing at the festival this year include Garies (New Jackson and Lumigraph), Radie Peat, Maria Somerville, Patrick Kelleher & His Cold Dead Hands, Aaron Dilloway & Vicky Langan, Woven Skull, Jennifer Walshe, Club Comfort, Fran Hartnett, T-Woc, Áine O’Dwyer, Aoife O’Neill, Static., Eliza, Prun, Ebauche, Bloom, Belacque, SIAS, Kenny Hanlon, The Digital Druids and Dabbledoo Feat. Amanda Feery & everyone and more to be announced.

“The festival has nurtured a strong symbiotic relationship with Sherkin Island itself and its residents. The trust the residents have imbued in the organisers has allowed them to embed the festival into various locations around the Island, such as: St Mona’s Church, Horseshoe Bay Quarry, and the Sherkin Community Hall, alongside the main base on the land of Sherkin North Shore.”

Now in its fourth year, the festival will run from Thursday May 30 to Sunday June 2. Click here for more and check out the film below.
