Paddy Mulcahy releases visual collaboration for ‘Sunset Connoisseur’ with Dave Fox

The producer and composer from the South West has raised the bar with his latest track.

Limerick based Producer and Paddy Mulcahy has been composing music from a young age, classically trained from the age of five he’s sought out more experimental sounds in recent years.

In 2014, Paddy released a 4 track EP entitled Memory Season, followed by a piano performance at the launch of Nils Frahm’s ‘SHEETS EINS’ book.

Following the release of his sophomore LP ‘How To Disappear’ via Phases records the multi-instrumentalist has shared a collaborative art project featuring three Irish film makers. Each visual artist chose a track to create accompanying visuals for and the first of which dropped today.

‘Sunset Connoisseur’ combined original music from Paddy and visuals from Dublin based Director Dave Fox.

On the single Dave said, “The song (Sunset Connoisseur)  instantly struck a nostalgic chord with me.”

“There’s a texture within Paddy’s music that has grit and grain and I thought that shooting on film would be the perfect way to compliment that sound. I recently inherited a super 8 camera that had shot a lot of films around Dublin in the 80’s so it felt right to re-shoot Dublin in its beautiful, brutal modern-day; focusing on a generation that is lost between progress and regression.

Paddy Mulcahy’s headline show is at The Unitarian Church, Dublin March 28 2020. (Special Guest TBA)
