Rasharn Powell drops new single ‘Freedom’

Words: Katie Gartland

‘Freedom’ is a celebration of youthful liberation that’s often forgotten as we get older.

Rasharn Powell has released his final track of the year, ‘Freedom’. The London-based rapper also dropped the highly regarded singles ‘Joyride’, ‘Smithereens’ and ‘Twelvemonth’ earlier in 2020.

‘Freedom’ is a light and playful song about letting go to enjoy important life moments.

Powell’s love of music began at a very young age when his Grandad introduced him to dance hall and dubplates. He began reading literature before writing music. Poetry by James Baldwin and Marlo Morgan slowly began to influence his own lyrics.
